Being Turkey's first and only aviation, space, and technology fest, TEKNOFEST Istanbul will take place at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between 21-26 September this year. TEKNOFEST is carried out by the Turkey Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, the first of which was held in 2018, hosts many shows such as air shows and concerts. TEKNOFEST aims to increase the interest in technology and raise awareness about Turkey's transformation into a society that produces national technology.
To make the dreams of thousands of young people come true, TEKNOFEST organizes a variety of competitions in different disciplines, such as educational technologies, biotechnological innovation, model satellite, and rocket design. In its first year, 4333 teams and 20.000 young people applied for competitions. In the second year, 17.373 teams and 50000 people from 122 different countries applied to the TEKNOFEST competitions. In 2020, TEKNOFEST took place at Gaziantep, and 20.197 teams and 100.000 people applied.
The competitions divide into 12 categories. People of all ages from primary school students to entrepreneurs can apply for the competitions and get technical equipment support.
Currently, TEKNOFEST is planned to be held on 21-26 September. Material assistance of over 5 million TL will be provided to teams who pass the pre-selection round. Prizes totaling more than 5 million TL will be awarded to the winning teams.
However, the festival is filled with seminars, technology competitions, and many more. Visitors can also enjoy being at the TEKNOFEST, since parachuting air shows of ''SoloTurk'', ''Turkish Stars'' take place at the festival.
