Currently, a worldwide brand, Les Benjamins, started when Bunyamin Aydin was just 19. Bunyamin Aydin founded the company in 2011 and has been successful ever since. Bünyamin Aydın's family was also in the textile industry, so he has always been in clothing and fashion. Thus, he knew everything from design to production. In his high school years, he became interested in photography, architecture, literature, and music. He combined his knowledge and interests and started the Les Benjamins brand.
''Dedication. A clear vision. A strong team. No holidays.'' is what Bunyamin Aydin says when he defines success. At first, Les Benjamins was just a company that markets t-shirts. Just after three years of its foundation, Bunyamin Aydin began doing shows. His first show was in Istanbul in 2014, and the second one was in Milan. Those shows were important for the Les Benjamins as they showed the quality and high potential of the company. However, the thing that caught people's interest in the brand was Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with their spring/summer 2015 collection. Later, Les Benjamins maintained the attention and raised the expectations with their storming parties in Paris for their winter/fall collections where musicians such as Skepta and Travis Scott showed up. Around that time, Les Benjamins had another showcase held in the Binbirdirek Cistern to show their fall/winter collection.
One can see the mix of East and West in one of Les Benjamins' designs. Les Benjamins is a brand based in Istanbul, the city that divides East and West. Yet, Istanbul has the soul of the two. That inspired Bunyamin Aydin in his designs and gained lots of attention.
Les Benjamins represents a vision of the contemporary East. "We are a platform that shows how we want the East to be today," Aydın says. It meant supporting the youth talent and culture in Turkey when Aydın said those words. Les Benjamins use the power of communication to shoot editorials, write blogs, and organize events to unearth and promote the local talent.
