The sudden and immense international popularity of Turkish TV dramas gets described as a social phenomenon. Çukur

Çukur was filmed by Ay production and attracted a great deal of audience in a very short time. The series focuses on a district called Çukur that is under the control of the Koçovalı family. Koçovalı Family has the duty of protecting a crime district. Çukur has become highly popular in Turkey as it is possible to see the tattoos of the symbol on so many people in real life. Globally, Çukur got sold to 20 different countries, and especially South Koreans love the series. 

Muhteşem Yüzyıl

Muhteşem Yüzyıl is a historical fiction TV series about the Ottoman Empire. It is based on the life of Süleyman, the longest-reigning Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, and his wife Hürrem. Muhteşem Yüzyıl was sold to more than 50 countries around the globe and reportedly has more than 200 million viewers. The successful import of the series also made the leading actors Halit Ergenç and Meryem Uzerli quite famous around the world.

Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki

Filmed in 1960, Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki follows the dramatic changes to the lives of the Akarsu family after the patriarch's extramarital affair. The series focuses on the dramatic events that happen to the family. The narrator of the whole series is the youngest son of the family, Osman. The series was sold to 17 different countries.
