Olympos, the first name that comes to mind when Antalya is mentioned, is one of the most popular resorts for summer tourism. Olympos is a special place where you can be alone with nature and enjoy the sea perfectly. The ancient city offers a perfect experience for those who want to spend their holidays, by discovering historical textures.

Antalya is among the most important values of the Mediterranean Region. Olympos, which comes to mind when summer tourism is mentioned, is a town in the Kumluca district of Antalya. Olympos, which will provide a perfect experience with its historical beauties as well as its natural beauties, hosts a large crowd in the summer months.

On the southern coast of Antalya, the second important port city after Phaselis is Olympos. The city takes its name from Tahtalı Mountain, which is one of the western extensions of the Taurus Mountains, 16 kilometers to the north, with a height of 2,375 meters. It is within the borders of Beydağları-Olympos National Park. Although the exact date of its foundation is unknown, Olympos, which is mentioned in the Lycian Union coins minted in 167-168 BC, is one of the six cities in the Lycian Union with three voting rights. Most of the surviving remains of the city are covered with trees and bushes in the forest and belong to the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods. The remnants of Olympos that have survived to the present day are generally located at the mouth and on both sides of a river that flows rapidly to the sea, from east to west. In the ancient period, the river bed that divided the city into two was taken into a canal and both sides were used as piers and connected by a bridge. Today, one foot of the bridge remains in place.

Since it is within the scope of Olympos protected area, no construction is allowed in the ancient area and its surroundings. Accommodation is in tree houses. It is the most important stop for travelers. Besides, the Beydağları Olympos National Park near the region is an ideal region for those interested in mountaineering.

The symbol of Olympos beaches is Caretta Carettas. On the north side, where the beach ends, there are spawning places for turtles. Since July and August are the spawning season of Caretta Carettas, you can find the chance to see tiny turtles if you go down to the beach early in the morning. If you want to relax in a quiet and peaceful place and spend a few days away from stress, you can choose Olympos with peace of mind.
